I like reading stories about the pirates off the eastern coast of Africa. Partially because it’s so ridiculous (I mean, pirates?! come on, what is this, 1830?). But I think I also like that the story is simple. You don’t have to wonder “Did we just overthrow the Iraqi government? Maybe WE’RE the bad guys here?” Because obviously if there’s a bunch of idiots capturing ships using guns and rocket launchers, they’re the bad guys.
But seriously, what are these guys thinking? They’re up against the combined navies of all of the most powerful countries in the world. What do they think is going to happen? They are an annoying gnat, and sooner or later they’re going to get the every loving snot squashed out of them.
