I’m moving to Palo Alto!

I’m sure a lot of you have already heard, but I decided to take a job with Meebo. They’re making a web-based instant messaging program. It currently uses Gaim on the backend. I’ll be leaving Cary on May 31st and driving to Palo Alto, California. Emily is going to drive out with me and then fly back. It’s all pretty crazy.

If you or someone you know is interested in renting my townhouse starting in June or later, let me know. Townhouse info: 2 stories, 2 bedrooms, 2 parking spaces, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer. It’s near the corner of Harrison Ave and I-40 in Cary, NC. Close to RTP and NCSU.

I’ll also be selling a sturdy and fairly unadorned wooden desk (the one in my bedroom), three large wooden bookshelves (the ones in my guest bedroom), and a black futon+black cushion (the one I’ve had forever).

    Congrats, Mark!

The Meebo folks seem cool and I’ve heard a lot of good buzz about the concept.

    Enjoy Palo Alto!

I’m a native Palo Altan, now living in Durham – and I’m jealous that you’re heading to the Bay Area! Granted, I love living in NC, but I do have a place in my heart for Palo Alto.
    A few recommendations:
The Peninsula Cremery downtown on University Ave – the BEST milkshakes EVER.
The Stanford Theater on University – double feature classic movies with an organist during intermission. (Go next door to the candy shop to stock up and sneak some sweets in.)
Walking through Stanford’s campus – they don’t have palm trees in Cary!
One of my favorite things about Palo Alto, now that I live in NC —- NO HUMIDITY! You’re moving just in time to avoid summer in NC.
    Have a GREAT time!!!!!
