“Leave the gun … take the cannolis.”

The Godfather is the best movie ever (and I’m not just saying that because it’s ranked #1 at IMDB). The cast is awesome: Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan, Robert Duvall, and Diane Keaton. Every line is perfect. The production quality is high, but the movie still has a gritty feel. Sometimes dialog is muffled, sometimes lighting is dim, some scenes only exist to give more depth to the characters. It all adds together to make the movie feel real. And the best part is the story. Michael Corleone’s internal struggle between avoiding the life of crime of his family or helping them when they need it most.

  1. Agreed (ok well maybe not the best ever, I’m too stingy to give that out, but it was really good). Penney and I watched it recently and yeah I thought it was a very good movie. It was really nice to see Al Pacino before he became so type cast, he’s actually acting like the character rather than acting like Al Pacino. My only complaint was that it was long; I was sure that it was going to end after the second wedding, not an hour later.
