Gaim has been selected by Google to be one of the “mentoring” projects in their Summer of Code. It’s pretty sweet. If you’re a student, and want to work on an open source project over the summer, and want to get a little bit of money then you should definitely check it out. Read the Gaim news post for links and more information.
My name is Mark Doliner. I’m a computer software engineer living and working in North Carolina, USA. I worked in the San Francisco Bay area for 13 years before moving back East in 2019. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’m thinking about tackling the FOAF Smusher project as part of the Semedia Semantic Web project proposals. I emailed the mentor and it definitely looks like there would be some overlap with some of my graudate studies in AI and probabilistic reasoning. Cool stuff.
