December 21st, 1999. My senior year of high school. My family went to a Billy Joel concert at the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena/RBC Center/home of NCSU basketball/home of Carolina Hurricanes hockey. I think it was me, my brother and sister and our parents. There may have been a friend or two. It was their last show of a month long tour.
We’d heard a rumor that at Billy Joel concerts, a stage hand type person walks around the cheap seats before the show and looks for young and excited people and offers them seats directly in front of the stage. So there we are, sitting in the nosebleed seats in a giant arena, and lo and behold, this dude comes up and gives us seats to like, row 4 or something ridiculous.
I wasn’t even that big of a Billy Joel fan, but it was pretty freaking sweet.
That was awesome. I touched Billy Joel’s foot.

My Husband Al and I attended Billy Joel’s concert at the RBC Center 12/21/1999. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to go again but this time in Chicago at soldier field. Can’t wait!
Nice! Yeah it was good. Billy Joel has a lot of great songs.
