Sad but true

As I was sitting here I heard a bird thump into the window at the back of my house. I walked over to see if it was ok (sometimes they just get stunned and sit on the ground for a while until you scare them away and they go back to normal). I walk back there and it’s lying on its side on the ground. As I’m standing there a huge hawk swoops down right in front of my and carries it away.

This is at least the 4th bird that has flown into my back window. One of them was ok. I’m open to suggestions on how to get birds to stop flying into the window… I guess I could just close the blinds, but that’s sad.

In other news, the dude that was just on Judge Mathis looked like a complete maroon.

My grandparents had that problem, so they cut a piece of construction paper into the shape of a hawk in flight and taped it to the window.

    Bingo, no more birds!

  2. Don’t use that fancy Windex stuff, switch to something cheaper, like Rite Aid brand.

Or maybe you could put something else nearby, like bird seed. If they have something interesting out there then maybe they’ll quit trying to come inside and steal your cookies. Of course, you may just end up with more birds hanging out around your window and less hungry hawks.

I second the cutouts of birds on the window. You can even by vinyl stickers in the shape of birds. It does work.

Plus the cutouts would be totally sweet (figuratively).
